What I collect and why
I only collect what you choose to send me, plus the basic technical data any website needs to run.
If you email me: your name, email address and anything you include in the message. I use it to reply and, if we work together, to arrange the booking and invoicing. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or taking steps towards a contract you've asked about.
When you visit the site: basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, is logged automatically. It's used only to keep the site running and secure. The lawful basis is legitimate interests.
I don't use your data for marketing.
Cookies and analytics
This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.
I use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics to see which pages are visited. It doesn't identify you and only produces anonymous totals.
Who else sees it
I never sell your data. It's only shared with trusted providers who help run the site and my business, such as hosting, email and accounting services, and with authorities where the law requires it. Some providers may store data outside the UK; where they do, the safeguards UK law requires are in place.
How long I keep it
I keep personal data only as long as I need it: to deal with your enquiry, to run any project we work on, and to meet legal and tax obligations. After that, it's deleted.
Your rights
You can ask me to show you the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can also object to how I use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere.
Email hey@samsingleton.co.uk and I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
